I am very happy to address you all that we have successfully completed The Second International Eurasian Maritime History Congress in St.Petersburg on 23 – 25 July 2014.
The Congress has been carried out together with IAMS and Linchnost Petersburga Historical and Cultural Center in support of both Piri Reis and Admiral Makarov Universities.
In the Congress more than hundred papers have been presented by various academicians, researchers and scholars from sixteen different countries of the globe.
We are also very pleased to see the majority of participants from Russia. Since the main theme was the “Russian Maritime History”, a great number of the contributions from Russian side made the Congress rich and more valuable. I am sure we will notice the results in our Proceedings book of the Congress.
By this occasion, I would like to extend my cordial thanks to the President of Linchnost Petersburga Mr. Aflatun Aliev for supporting our Congress and both Rectors of the Universities, our Scientific Committee members and the secretaries for their dedicated works to make this Congress the most successful one.
Hoping to meet in the future successful Congress.
With my best wishes
Admiral (R) Metin ATAÇ
